Strategically Planning your Website Photos with Jenelle Botts

88: Strategically Planning your Website Photos with
Jenelle Botts

Today I’m talking with my friend Jenelle about brand photography and about prepping for a brand photoshoot.

Jenelle Botts is a brand photographer and visual strategist for small businesses and entrepreneurs. She specializes in helping brands tell their story through their visual language.

In this episode, Jenelle shares...

  • The difference between brand photography and other photoshoots

  • How to dress for your brand shoot

  • The biggest makes she sees people make with their brand photography

Jenelle says there is a lot of strategy that goes into a brand photoshoot and you have to start with your brand values to keep your creativity grounded.

She encourages everyone to create a ‘visual gaps exercise’ by going through your current website to see what photos you wish you had. You can also apply this exercise to other areas where you post content.

Jenelle says your brand photographer is a part of the process, but at the end of the day YOU are the boss. You need to be involved and know exactly why you’re getting brand photos for your business.

I hope this conversation was super helpful for you, Jenelle shared some really good things to keep in mind for your next brand photoshoot!
