Developing New Habits with Dani Bruflod

89: DEVELOPING NEW HABITS WITH DANI BRUFLODT

I’m here with Dani Bruflodt, the creator of The Daily Page Planner. I helped brand this planner and I actually use it every single day! Today we’re talking all about developing new habits.

Dani is a shop owner, online educator, and advocate. Her real mission is to help people reclaim their time, increase their energy, and ultimately have more impact on the world.

In this episode, Dani shares...

  • Why developing new habits as an adult is so difficult

  • How to use habit stacking

  • Ways to get back on track after routines are disrupted

Habit stacking connects new habits to your well established habits, which makes you much more likely to take action on them. Dani breaks down an exercise you can use to implement habit stacking.

She says to write out everything you do every day in chronological order on the left side of a piece of paper. Then make a list of new habits that you want to develop on the right side of the paper.  Connect one habit on the left to one habit on the right. So an example might be something like “when I turn on the coffee pot I will journal for 5 minutes at the kitchen table.”

Dani says the best way to be successful with new habits is to start small. Then you can increase your goals as you go.

I really love all of Dani’s amazing products. The thoughtful design and quality paper make The Daily Planner the only planner I use. I hope you check it out and find success developing new habits for yourself, too!
