10 Things I’d Go Back and Tell Myself When Starting a Business
Today I am taking a step back and remembering how things were when I first started my business. I’ve learned so much since then, and there are so many things I wish I could go back and tell my former self.
So, I’m sharing those with you today! Here are 10 things I’d go back and tell myself when starting my business:
Systems don’t have to be complicated
Choose systems that work for you
There’s no one-size-fits-all marketing plan
Take action that feels good and aligned with what you want
Your style and business will evolve over time
And that is okay!
A difficult client doesn’t reflect anything about your business
Everyone deals with difficult clients, don’t take it personally
At the end of the day, it’s still just work
Life isn’t just about a job
Your best ideas require mental white space
Take breaks from the grind of work
You can’t force creativity
When you create, it is a mirror of how you are feeling
Don’t try to be everything to everyone; put your needs first
You can’t please everyone so don’t try
Days off are necessary - wellness is a business decision
Even if you feel you are too busy, you’ll be so much more productive after a break
There’s a solution to every problem
Everything can be resolved and fixed
I’m still learning as I go, but now that I’m fully emerged in navigating this entrepreneurial space, I realize there is so much that is better and easier than I ever thought.
So I hope this has been helpful for you, too!
