Work-Life Balance

In this episode, I’m talking about something that has been heavy on my heart recently. This is a message that I need to hear, as much as anyone else. And that is getting better at work-life balance.

Everything we choose is at the cost of something else. So I’ve been focused on living intentionally and being the best version of myself.

So these are a few things that I’ve learned to help improve work-life balance:

  • Work-life balance is not something you can perfect

You don’t have to do anything like anyone else, what matters most is that you are enjoying your life.

  • Hold on to boundaries that are non-negotiable

Even when that means disappointing someone. People understand that you’re human and things happen. You need to take care of yourself first.

  • Make sure we’re doing the things you want to do

Life is so short. You need to live your life and make the things you want to do a priority.

  • Make sure you’re able to turn off from your day

Don’t keep thinking about your work all night long. Remember that work is just work and there is nothing there that can’t wait.

  • Get comfortable saying no to protect your energy

Get clear on what you need and your business needs. You can’t say yes to everything, say no to the things you need to say no to.

  • Evaluate your to do list daily

I guarantee there are things you can automate, delegate, or completely remove. I know we feel like we can do it all, but that isn’t true.

  • Make a bucket list of things you want to do

Use a checklist of things you want to make time for and invite friends to collaborate and hold you accountable.

I really want to leave you with the permission to live. Make sure your business is supporting the life you want and you are being intentional with your time. Do what you need to do to enjoy your life!
