Creating to Fill a Need with Ona Oghogho
Today I’m talking to a powerhouse of a woman, Ona Oghogho.
Ona is the founder of Blk Pod Collective and recently launched a new company called Podhouse Media.
I love Ona’s story of how her business started so organically because it was born out of her sharing her knowledge with others.
She says she was looking for a specific community of Black podcasters and didn’t find it. So she decided to fill the void and create a place where she could find support and advice from others.
I ask Ona how she does everything that she does, including such extensive content creation. She explains her system of using lists and communicating with her team.
We also discuss the importance of self care and how she makes health and wellness a non-negotiable in her life.
Her advice for content creation is to look at what your audience is telling you. She pays attention to the questions people are asking on Facebook, Instagram, and Clubhouse and uses those questions to create her content for that week.
She also likes to tell people to set up Google Alerts on your topic. You can get weekly reports on the top stories and information around your topic which will let you know what is going on and give you some content to build off of.
I loved talking with Ona and how she left me speechless several times throughout this interview! I hope Ona’s resilience and discipline have inspired you as a creative entrepreneur.
