Should You Discount Your Services?

120: Should You Discount Your Services?

I recently ran a sale in my business for the first time, and I wanted to share about that experience today.

This was a short term marketing strategy and it worked really well for me for some very specific reasons.

In this episode, I share...

  • Why I ran the sale

  • My advice for others when running a sale

  • Specific strategies you can use in your marketing

The tips I have for a sale are:

  • Create a sense of urgency

People take action when they know you have a limited time offer.

  • Make sure everything in the back end is set up for this

Confirm that all of your forms work and clear availability for calls.

  • Make it easy for people to book a call with you

Change the link in your bio and make links on your website lead to booking a call so people have to take the least amount of action.

  • Have a reason for your sale

Explain the reason for your sale and don’t run it over a holiday to compete with other noise in the online space.

  • Don’t run a sale frequently or from the start of your business

If people know you do this often it isn’t special and doesn’t prompt quick action.

  • Tell people they have to sign with you in a certain period of time for the discount

Keep your sale period short and sweet so people know they need to act now.

  • Make a post that is shareable

Help people spread the word for you by making a shareable post with a picture of you.

  • Understand the difference between active referrals and passive referrals

Ask past clients or friends to be an active referral by sharing about your sale.

I was excited about the results I had from this sale! I hope that sharing about my experience has helped you too. Happy selling!
