How to Take Time Off (Without Feeling Guilty)

The holidays are approaching and you may be looking forward to some much needed time off.

But as an entrepreneur, taking time off can take some work. So today I’m sharing how to take some time off, without feeling guilty.

My advice for preparing to take some time off is:

  • Prioritize your to do list
Cross off everything you don’t have to do. Then look at what is left to see what you can automate, schedule in advance, or delegate.

  • Communicate with your clients ahead of time
Tell your clients what to expect while you are gone and how to reach you if needed. People will appreciate knowing what is going on.

  • Automate as much as you can
Keep your daily tasks going even when you’re off by automating things you do often.

  • Ask for some help
This could be help from your team, hiring new help, or asking for help from clients by extending deadlines.

  • Use commutes and down time wisely
Write down some easy, light work that is fun to do and take care of that during travel time.

  • Give yourself grace
Nothing is an emergency and you deserve time off. You are allowed to make the rules and take time off.

I hope you use these tips and take some time off to rest and rejuvenate. You’ll come back to work recharged, refreshed, and with new ideas!
