10 Things I’d Go Back and Tell Myself When Starting a Business

Today I am taking a step back and remembering how things were when I first started my business. I’ve learned so much since then, and there are so many things I wish I could go back and tell my former self.

So, I’m sharing those with you today! Here are 10 things I’d go back and tell myself when starting my business:

  1. Systems don’t have to be complicated

    • Choose systems that work for you

  2. There’s no one-size-fits-all marketing plan

    • Take action that feels good and aligned with what you want

  3. Your style and business will evolve over time

    • And that is okay!

  4. A difficult client doesn’t reflect anything about your business

    • Everyone deals with difficult clients, don’t take it personally

  5. At the end of the day, it’s still just work

    • Life isn’t just about a job

  6. Your best ideas require mental white space

    • Take breaks from the grind of work

  7. You can’t force creativity

    • When you create, it is a mirror of how you are feeling

  8. Don’t try to be everything to everyone; put your needs first

    • You can’t please everyone so don’t try

  9. Days off are necessary - wellness is a business decision

    • Even if you feel you are too busy, you’ll be so much more productive after a break

  10. There’s a solution to every problem

    • Everything can be resolved and fixed

I’m still learning as I go, but now that I’m fully emerged in navigating this entrepreneurial space, I realize there is so much that is better and easier than I ever thought.

So I hope this has been helpful for you, too!
