How to Feel Confident as a Self-Taught Designer

104: How to Feel Confident as a Self-Taught Designer

If you are a self-taught designer, you might have moments of doubt or imposter syndrome.

In this episode, I share...

  • Things to do to feel more confident

  • What you should (and should not!) invest in

  • How to determine where your lack of confidence is coming from

The 5 tips I to feel more confident are:

  • Surround yourself with other designers

When you connect with other designers you can learn from and support each other.

  • Continue to learn and invest in your skills

Always be learning and apply the things you learn.

  • Identify why you feel a lack of confidence

Write down what would make you more confident and plan some micro goals to get you there.

  • Get super comfortable with one program

Don’t overwhelm yourself by trying to learn everything at once.

  • Focus on creating your own work, not looking at other people’s work

The more you challenge yourself the better you will become.

You are not alone, and your skill will improve over time. I hope this advice helps you increase your confidence and moves you closer to your dream projects.
