Creating an Authentic Brand

Welcome to Branding 101!

Let’s get back to the basics today and talk about all about branding.

First, your brand is so much more than your logo. Your brand also includes:

  • Your images & style

  • Your social proof & testimonials

  • Your color palette

  • Your voice, your message, & your mission

  • Your website, the ease of use, the calls to action you use

  • Your patterns, your fonts, & your logo
When starting to create a brand, the best thing to do first is to nail down the feeling. What do you want people to feel when they think of your brand? Here is my best advice:

  • Ask 5 people to tell you a few words that they think of when they think of you

  • Ask people what colors they think of when they think of you

  • Look at the top people/brands you follow and think about why you like them. Notice the similarities they have for inspiration.

  • Share your personality. Show up as you are and write how you talk.

  • Talk about the experience that you give people on your social media

  • Don’t follow trends and shiny objects

  • Determine what makes you different

Make sure that your brand feels aligned with who you really are. When it comes to showing up, we have to make sure that we are being authentic because that is how the real connections are made.

And connections are how you find your tribe of people and connections are what will turn people into loyal customers.
